A Life after War for Our Warriors: Prince Charles Supports InnerSound’s Warrior Programme

From InnerSound

Prince Charles recently visited and expressed his support for InnerSound’s Warrior Programme in providing a haven for service men and women who return home scarred physically, emotionally, and mentally.

The nation has lost many brave men and women who dedicated their lives in service. Moreover, the number of servicemen and women physically injured or incapacitated is on the rise. As if that is not enough, both the military and the government are challenged by the growing number of soldiers suffering from stress, anxiety, or some form of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

PTSD is a serious ailment that inflicts not only the individual. Spouses often suffer from the absence of their partner, as children miss their parents. InnerSound remarks families have also sought medical attention due to returning military parents suffering from trauma. Factors contributing to PTSD can range from everyday stress to potential threats to first-hand experiences of the disturbing aspects of combat.

Peter, a veteran who spent 24 years in service, described how his experience in Croatia has haunted him. He sought the help of a priest and tried counseling but nothing worked until he joined the Warrior Programme.
Prince Charles says, “It's been really interesting to see how this holistic approach using complimentary therapies, the best of the ancient and the best of the modern, can be beneficial. Having heard the difference that can be made is enormously encouraging.”

The Warrior Programme is a charity that focuses on the treatment of ex-military personnel suffering from the trauma of battle. The InnerSound Centre provides talks and classes as well as Qi treatments that utilize the ancient practice of acupressure and sound for healing.
